Girl nursery

I just browsed as many of the 5 billion rate my space pages as I could (I got through about 20) and picked out the top four that caught my eye. This may all totally and completely change, but I just wanted your opinion. Which one do you like the best?

Of course I just like the basic colors and fabrics. My room won't look this fancy, and she probably won't have Aubrey Hepburn putting her to bed every night!

A journal entry

Haven't written in your journal for a while? Try this...

For January 26th 2009

Outside my window...I'm downstairs with the blinds closed, but the weather channel icon says it's cloudy so we'll go with that. Lots of snow--which I am glad about because January is too early for spring. A driveway with very little pavement showing even though we did shovel last night and today.

I am thinking about....how to decorate a little girls room. I looked through HGTV's Rate my Space and got some cute ideas. For some reason I just can't do baby pink. I think I could do a dark pink though. .....How many kids to have. This is such a hard decision. The whole time I was sick I was sure I was done. Now I'm not. I know I don't have to decide now (I probably shouldn't decide with pregnancy hormones working, but how does one know she is done?)...
My friend Ani's sweet little baby girl in the hospital.

I am thankful for...the gospel. I am so glad to know that my family is sealed for time and eternity and that God lives and loves me and my family. I'm grateful for Joseph Smith and what a powerful man he was. .... Tristan's job. Hearing about all of these job cuts just makes me panic, but I'm grateful for husband who works 14 hours a day during tax season so that I can stay home.

From the kitchen...We had pizza for dinner. Red sauce gives me a lot of trouble when I'm prego. Why do I bother? Why can't I ever sit down and plan a menu for the week. I'm so not a planner, I just fly by the seat of my pants.

I am wearing...My pink fuzzy PJ's that Tristan gave me for Christmas. Love them. I don't wear light pink except to bed. Weird eh?

I am going...maybe do another batch of family indexing, then either watch something or work on Tyce's birthday slideshow.

I am hoping...that I can handle tax season. It really all depends on my kids. If they are good players everything is great. If they are bored and expecting to be entertained 24-7, I go crazy. I'm not the one that gets up at 4:30 though so I really can't complain. ...That I feel this good for a lot longer and that the 3rd tri goes well.

I am hearing...the sweet sound of everyone in the house sleeping and the hum of the computer tower.

Around the house...Messy, but well-lived in as always. I try to clean up every morning.

One of my favorite things...This is a new favorite, but I got introduced to black bread. You can get it at Winco by their bakery. I've never heard of it, and I love it. I'm not a real toast person but this makes really good toast. You should try it. It's only a dollar more than a bread store loaf.

A few plans for the rest of the week...Help at Brandon's school, go to Scouts, have the missionaries over for dinner, make a snack for Creighton's preschool, shop for baby fabric, get more girl clothes from my sister-in-law, make a Saturday jar (different activities that we can go while Tristan works on Saturdays), clean the office, enjoy my family!

Veggie or Brandy the Snowman (depending on who won)

Finally, enough snow that is heavy enough to make a snowman. #2 has been waiting for this day. (And I will look on the positive and not complain about how shoveling for an hour this morning totally and completely wore me out for the day!)

Family indexing

https://www.familysearchindexing.org/en/home/home.jsf

I saw this on my friend and Ricks roommate (how old am I?) blog. I decided to try it out last night. It took a while to read all of the training materials, but then I did a half a batch and it was really fun. One batch takes about a half-hour. I decided I could do a half-hour a week until the baby comes.

It's also a way to feel like you are helping someone do their family history. Anyway, if she inspired me I decided to post it to see if I could inpsire at least one person to give it a try.

It's a ...........................

First you look at the pictures on the left and see if you have a guess.........(no cheating). I know this baby will love it's private parts shown to the world!

Were you right?

Did you guess GGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL?

If you did you are right!

We are truly and actually getting a girl.

I don't think it has really hit me yet that there will actually be another female in the house.

Tyce was right all along. I do believe those youngest children do know something.

Creighton thinks a good name would be Princess and Brandon thinks a good name would
be Padma. (after he asked if he could change his name is Jango Fett).

Tristan chose the song to be played.

Cutest blog is down or I would have chosen a baby girl background.

But of course more importantly, she is healthy and has all of the correct body parts.
She is on the small side at 32%.

Thanks for your love and support!

Miracles never cease and awesome cards

This is mostly just to show to my family that my boys can get dressed up. We are somehow known as not being the most dressed up family (my sister didn't think my boys would even wear a tie to her wedding). Well ha!

This morning this what the boys voluntarily decided to wear to church. They just looked so darn handsome that I had snap a picture. You also never know if it will happen again.

Creighton was so excited that he looked just like daddy for church.

I also wanted to show off the cards that I got for our girls card exchange this month. They were
also just so darn cute that I thought everyone deserves a little recognition.

I went through a creative dry-spell after summer and we went our trips then I was pregnant and sick. Now that I am feeling better I'm excited to get creative again.

I am starting to get caught up on my scrapbooks and I really enjoyed making my card this month. So, here is my challenge: Create something, big or small. It will make you feel better.

Here is part of President Uchtdorfs talk that he gave at the Relief Society Broadcast (that I missed because I was at the Diamondbacks game!) I love what he had to say:

The Work of Creation
The desire to create is one of the deepest yearnings of the human soul. No matter our talents, education, backgrounds, or abilities, we each have an inherent wish to create something that did not exist before.
Everyone can create. You don’t need money, position, or influence in order to create something of substance or beauty.
Creation brings deep satisfaction and fulfillment. We develop ourselves and others when we take unorganized matter into our hands and mold it into something of beauty—and I am not talking about the process of cleaning the rooms of your teenage children.
You might say, “I’m not the creative type. When I sing, I’m always half a tone above or below the note. I cannot draw a line without a ruler. And the only practical use for my homemade bread is as a paperweight or as a doorstop.”
If that is how you feel, think again, and remember that you are spirit daughters of the most creative Being in the universe. Isn’t it remarkable to think that your very spirits are fashioned by an endlessly creative and eternally compassionate God? Think about it—your spirit body is a masterpiece, created with a beauty, function, and capacity beyond imagination.

We didn't get to hear whose card was whose, so claim your card in a comment if I don't have it.

1) Joys

2) Tinas

3) ?

4) ?

5) Takara's?

6) ?7) Mine (I know you are shocked to see a baby girl card)8) ?

Boy or girl?

Well, my last poll you said you liked the name Caprice over Capri 16-4. Tristan doesn't like the name Caprice at all, but really likes Capri. I like them both.

Anyway, I get to find out in one week (next Thursday). Here's your chance to guess what I am having. The other three pregant friends I know who have already found out are all having boys.

You don't have to worry about my emotions, you can vote for what you really think I am having.
Since I've talked so much about this being a girl, I think some of you are worried for me if it's not.

I admit I will be dissapointed. Maybe it will be a lot harder than I think. I know I should be grateful to be having a healthy baby, but doesn't everyone deserve at least one girl?

It will be a lot easier to have a boy, because we are well equipped. Plus, this is most likely my last, so she will have no sisters to play with. But, there is still part of me who wants to look at those little dresses at the store and have some toys without weapons or wheels.

I guess there is always granddaughters!

Anyway, I think this poll will end a day or two before I find out and then I will announce if you are right or not.

P.S. The song that is playing should help with your decision. :)

Sucessful Surgery!

We are home and everything went (pretty) well. We woke up at 5:06 (it's a good thing this wasn't two months earlier or Tristan would be going by himself) and got ready.

Tyce just stared at me when I woke him and changed his diaper. After I changed him, he got his blanket and headed back to bed.

He was very sleepy and docile the whole time before they took him. The Doctor came in less than a hour later and said everything was fine and we should see him soon. He wasn't coming and wasn't coming, until finally we asked.

He decided that if they were going to breathe for him he didn't need to do that on his own and couldn't keep his oxygen up. They finally brought him back after 2 hours and we still had to work on keeping his oxygen. He was a very sad, thirsty little guy. He hated his IV and wanted it off.

They finally got his oxygen up and we got to come home. He got to ride in a wagon down to the car. He went straight to bed. Last time we did tubes he slept from 9:00-5:00.
Anyway, thank you for all of your thoughts and prayers. It's nice to know we have friends and family to love and support us.
It's just doesn't seem right for someone so small to be wearing a hospital gown!

Tyce's Surgery

As Tyce is getting his second set of ear tubes and his adenoids taken out on Monday, I was just going to ask you keep him in your prayers this weekend. And if you are of my faith, to maybe include him in your thoughts while you are fasting tomorrow.

I know we are very blessed to have this be our biggest health problem in our family, and it a very common and routine surgery. But there is always a risk when you are dealing with general anthesia, so I don't think more prayers would hurt.

Thanks- You know we'd do the same for you!

To go private or not to go private, that is the question

So, some of you have chosen to go private lately. Here is your chance to give your opinion.
What are the benefits of being private or not? Why have you decided to do what you have done?

I guess I think it's a bit easier to check when you are public, because I can see who has updated as soon as I open my blog. But, I guess that's not the biggest deal. I also think my life is boring enough that strangers shouldn't really care. But, I guess you can never be too careful these days.

I'll decide soon and if I decide to go private, I will try to send out invites to everyone I know who looks at my blog. If not, drop me a line and your e-mail and I will send an invite.
