I saw this on my friend and Ricks roommate (how old am I?) blog. I decided to try it out last night. It took a while to read all of the training materials, but then I did a half a batch and it was really fun. One batch takes about a half-hour. I decided I could do a half-hour a week until the baby comes.
It's also a way to feel like you are helping someone do their family history. Anyway, if she inspired me I decided to post it to see if I could inpsire at least one person to give it a try.
I love indexing! Sadly, I haven't done it in a while. When I get home from work the last thing I want to do is look at a computer screen. But I'm going to start it up again anyway. It's a good Sunday activity. I've done some really long batches that have taken me a couple hours to do (I think they were death records and there were like 300 to a batch). It's pretty amazing that anyone with the internet can participate.
ReplyDeleteI love idexing too. It is so interesting to look at their names and how many people were in their families. It makes you realize everyone had a story about them. You almost want to know what it is. I need to be better about doing it too. Thanks for the motivation.
