Sucessful Surgery!

We are home and everything went (pretty) well. We woke up at 5:06 (it's a good thing this wasn't two months earlier or Tristan would be going by himself) and got ready.

Tyce just stared at me when I woke him and changed his diaper. After I changed him, he got his blanket and headed back to bed.

He was very sleepy and docile the whole time before they took him. The Doctor came in less than a hour later and said everything was fine and we should see him soon. He wasn't coming and wasn't coming, until finally we asked.

He decided that if they were going to breathe for him he didn't need to do that on his own and couldn't keep his oxygen up. They finally brought him back after 2 hours and we still had to work on keeping his oxygen. He was a very sad, thirsty little guy. He hated his IV and wanted it off.

They finally got his oxygen up and we got to come home. He got to ride in a wagon down to the car. He went straight to bed. Last time we did tubes he slept from 9:00-5:00.
Anyway, thank you for all of your thoughts and prayers. It's nice to know we have friends and family to love and support us.
It's just doesn't seem right for someone so small to be wearing a hospital gown!

  4. I can't believe that you have "You're the Inspiration" on your blog. This song brings back way too many high school memories.....!

Glad to hear that the surgery went well. I hope little Tyce can recover well and will feel better soon. Next Monday is my little Porter's turn. Not very excited about it. Cute pictures of him.

  6. Those pictures make me so sad. It brings back the emotions of seeing my girls in the hospital. And your right kids that age should not be in hospital gowns!!!

  13. So glad it went well. It is hard to see our kids have to go through things like this. I remember Garrett getting his kidney out the week after his 3rd birthday at Primary Children's. (It is even scarier when they send you to Utah.) I also remember Garrett's broken arm. I couldn't even be strong for him....I was a mess watching that one, but in my defense I was in the first trimester of pregnancy. Did the hospital give him that red bear? I can't believe they are still giving those out. Hailey got a yellow one when she was little and had some xrays and scans done. It has been her most cherished and loved stuff animal. We have had it forever.
