Another 100 Day....

Since I guess this is my brag on my kids week, I decided that B needed a little air time today.

Yesterday he earned 100 AR (Accelerated Reader) points. If you are not familiar, this is where you read certain books and then take a test on your comprehension.

He has worked very hard and is an excellent reader. He will humbly let you know that he is on a 6th grade level (not quite!)

He has always been interested in books and letters. I remember one day we were at the cemetary at age 2 and he was reading all of the letters on the headstones. Everyone thought he was amazing. I didn't realize that was out of the ordinary until I had other two-year-olds.

He has read every book in his teachers class and most of the Magic Tree House chapter books in the library.

Good job B!

  1. He really is a smart kid. He amazes me during Primary. Everytime we ask him a question he knows the answer! You should brag about him!!

  2. That is awesome! I am very familiar with AR. My advanced K kids did it. I love the Magic Tree House books. If he hasn't read "My Father's Dragon" you should look into it. It is a fun chapter book. It's a trilogy so there are two more books in the series. By the way, I think it is a mother's job to brag about her kids! :-)

  4. I like the AR program too. Tyler was really into during 1st Grade. Not so much this year, and I'm not sure why. What a great accomplishment for B.

  6. 100 points is an amazing accomplishment!! Especially if the books are only .5 or 1 point each. That's a LOT of reading! I think you have every right in the world to brag!!

  9. Hey Julie! Of Course it's free!!! It's a birthday party Justin's throwing for me.But he's too busy to get around to actually inviting anyone so I am. It's going to be Thurs, March 12 7pm at the Civic Auditorium. We have almost every song imaginable. But you HAVE seen clean Karaoke before. We did it for a ward party once and you sang Celine Dion.... I guess I just assumed you were sober.... :) JK
